New Metro Vancouver restaurant serving everything aburi opens its doors

It’s no secret that Metro Vancouver loves its sushi. Vancouver has been named the most sushi-obsessed city outside of Japan. So, when signs went up for a new spot specializing in everything aburi, we knew we needed to learn more.
Located at #135 4000 Number 3 Rd., Richmond, Zenbu Aburi is the latest spot serving up the much-loved cuisine.
Its menu has various aburi options like crispy tuna, hamachi, sockeye salmon, beef, unagi, and more.
While aburi is definitely the star at Zenbu Aburi, it also has a limited offering of inari and appetizers like miso soup, edamame, and wakame salad.
For those unfamiliar, aburi is a Japanese word for “flame-seared” and is essentially a flame-seared nigiri. The concept was first brought to Canada by Seigo Nakamura, best known for his Vancouver restaurants Miku, Minami, and Wa-Bagel.
And speaking of aburi in Richmond, Miku has also stated that it plans to open at the River Rock Casino, joining the likes of the recently-opened Gordon Ramsay Steak.
