We made it through the first month of 2018 y’all – it’s time to celebrate. And what better way to do that than get into some seriously awesome food and beverage-focused events?

Dinners, demos, festivals and more – February’s in no shortage of delicious destinations.

Silver Screen Hollywood Afternoon Tea at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver

The Silver Screen Hollywood Afternoon Tea celebrates all the glitz of Old Hollywood, think Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, and John Wayne. Black and white flicks are projected on a screen at the centre of the room, but the real star of the show is the food.

Dine Out Vancouver

Dine Out Vancouver is back for its 16th year, bringing with it a crowded calendar of food events, with almost 300 restaurants participating in this year’s exciting event. Taking place from January 19 through February 4, 2018, the popular annual fest features hundreds of restaurants, each offering multi-course dinners at $20, $30 or $40 (plus tax, gratuity and beverages).

Unsung Heroes Festival at Blue Water Cafe

Blue Water Cafe has been concocting weird and wonderful culinary creations from the sea for their annual Unsung Heroes Festival for 14 years, and this year’s selection is no different. This year, Executive Chef Frank Pabst has created an array of delights, integrating sustainable seafood not commonly found on many menus into familiar and much-loved dishes.

Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival 2018

The annual celebration of all things hot chocolate is kicking off on January 20 and runs until February 14 – which means you have 22 days to try all 35 of the participating ‘chocstars’ at this year’s fest, all of which are local purveyors.

‘Torch’d Devil’ from True Confections

To get one of these bad boys in your hands, you can order the Torch’d Devil through the foodora app and pick it up at their Denman location (the Broadway cafe isn’t participating in this one).

Benny Bonanza at Joe Fortes

Benny Bonanza, a joyful and uber affordable brunch deal at the legendary Joe Fortes restaurant officially kicks off February 3 and runs every Saturday and Sunday until February 25. This mid-morning event gives patrons a choice of Joe Fortes signature Eggs Benedict in three flavours – each only ringing in at $9.95.

Available on Saturday and Sunday, Beta5’s new mid-morning service will offer four rotating pastries for eight weekends only. Starts January 20 and 21 and runs until March 10 and 11.

The Main Affair

There’s a new all-vegan food and beverage event coming to Vancouver and it’s called The Main Affair. A one-night-only food fest and dinner hybrid, this shindig will feature vegan food and beverage entrepreneurs, along with local plant-based Chef Karen McAthy, who will be creating some delectable vegan tapas.

Eastside Flea (Bi-Weekly Market)


The Eastside Flea is a modern-day flea market that occurs every weekend in Vancouver. Each event hosts over 50 local vendors selling diverse goods from handmade craftsmen items to vintage clothing, antiques and collectibles, plants, artisan eats and more. You’ll also find food trucks, deejays, pinball machines, a pool table, outdoor courtyard, and other fun things to check out.

The annual Valentine’s Chocolate Cave Buffet takes place at Notch8 inside the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver on February 14, and it’s one sweet event. Tickets are $70 per couple and they will guarantee your spot in the restaurant’s private dining room, which will be transformed with floor-to-ceiling custom built chocolate covered walls and a selection of over 25 different AYCE chocolate desserts created by the talented in-house pastry team.

Pizza Palooza

At the 3rd annual Pizza Palooza you’ll get the chance to taste many types of pizza from Neapolitan to Roman to NY style, South Indian, Lebanese and more. Tacofino X Tofino Brewing Company Dinner

After the unreal success of their beer dinner with 33 Acres last fall, Tacofino has decided to make their craft beer dinner parties a regular thing, and we couldn’t be more pleased. Vancouver’s favourite family of taco restaurants is teaming up with six local craft breweries to host a monthly series of five-course Beer Dinners at their Hastings location (2327 E. Hopwired Festival

The “largest collaboration event in Canada” and inaugural tasting celebration is taking place on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the Croatian Cultural Centre, where attendees can find 40 vendors, 15 unique craft beer and coffee roaster collaborations, all-inclusive filtered/drip coffee, all-inclusive espresso, and experience tastings and live interviews from industry experts.
