The Sharing Farm

What: Soak up the summer vibes at the Neighbourhood Patio Pop-Up, your go-to weekday escape in the heart of the city. Enjoy live music daily, get creative at the Art Cart, or make your own bouquet to take home.

Vancouver Whitecaps vs Houston Dynamo
What: Vancouver Whitecaps continue their MLS season this summer with exciting home games at BC Place. Cheer on the ‘Caps as they face the Houston Dynamo on Sunday, Aug. 17.
Fans are invited to an all-ages Terry Fox Plaza Fan Zone before the game. The festivities at Robson and Beatty will feature German-inspired food and drink specials like $5 beers, live music, kids’ activities, and an appearance by Müller at 3:30 p.m.
The match this Sunday against the Houston Dynamo will have both new players, Müller and Kenji Cabrera, in attendance. And the first 20,000 people will receive a poster of Müller, while inventory lasts.

Chilliwack Flight Fest air show

Chilliwack Airshow
What: Canada’s longest-running free air show is returning to the skies over the Fraser Valley this weekend to delight guests from across the Lower Mainland.
The 31st Chilliwack Flight Fest Airshow is happening on Sunday, Aug. 17, at the Chilliwack Airport, and it will be filled with fun activities and events for the whole family.
Visitors to Chilliwack Flight Fest Airshow can check out ground displays and community booths at the airport. There will also be a kids’ zone for the budding pilots to explore. The main event is, of course, the exciting air show, with a variety of planes taking to the sky.

PNE Fair 2025
What: The PNE Fair in Vancouver is back for a big 2025, and you’ll want to prepare your summer schedule accordingly.
A highlight of the fair every year is the huge summer night concerts. Music lovers won’t want to miss the exciting mix of music legends and rising stars coming to The Chevrolet Stage inside the Pacific Coliseum.
It wouldn’t be the PNE without some exciting entertainment. Save room in your fair schedule to see the SuperDogs’ new western-inspired show “Wild Wild Wolf” in the Agrodome, the ultimate aerial I-FLIP Show, The Flying Fools High Dive Show, and The Big Backyard free play zone. Vancouver Aquarium presents Survival of the Slowest
What: Vancouver Aquarium’s new exhibit, Survival of the Slowest, celebrates all things slow in the animal kingdom by giving you a sneak peek behind some of nature’s most inventive creatures. From now until Monday, Sept. 1, this limited-time exhibit lets you step into a world where being slow, small, and even weak can be a powerful survival strategy.
Throughout the exhibit, you can dive into interactive displays to uncover how these naturally slow critters, like the two-toed sloth, have adapted to survive in the wild. Relax into daily Slow & Tell animal presentations so you can chill with the coolest sluggish creatures like the four-toed hedgehog and the armoured armadillo.

Downtown Port Coquitlam Car Show

Downtown Port Coquitlam Car Show
What: The Downtown Port Coquitlam Car Show returns on Saturday, Aug. 16 and Sunday, Aug. 17, with hundreds of collectible vehicles showcased.
The Saturday night Car Cruise and BBQ will see hundreds of participating vehicles cruising around the neighbourhood along a route where PoCo residents can watch and cheer. There will be some road closures in place to help facilitate the event.
Then, on Sunday, the show will take place throughout the neighbourhood. Organizers said they expect over 70,000 people to check out the more than 500 vehicles on display. You’ll be able to see all kinds of unique cars, from custom builds to classic rides.

What: In Langley, the 29th annual Arts Alive Festival is closing Fraser Highway between 204 and 206 Streets on Saturday for a free, family event that will showcase over 200 visual and performing artists.

GranVino Wine Walk

GranVino Wine Walk
What: GranVino is a walkable wine-tasting event in South Granville, featuring over 20 curated stops including boutiques, galleries, concept stores, and restaurants.
Guests will enjoy up to 15 tastings of B.C. wines, ciders, and spirits, paired with exclusive in-store experiences, promotions, giveaways and surprises. You will also receive a limited-edition tasting cup and tote to keep.
More than a wine event, the GranVino Wine Walk is a celebration of local creativity, community, and the vibrant culture of the neighbourhood.

WNBA Canada Game: Seattle Storm vs. Atlanta Dream
What: The WNBA has announced that a contest between the Seattle Storm and Atlanta Dream will take place at Rogers Arena, making it the league’s first-ever regular-season matchup held outside the United States.
The Storm are the 2020 WNBA Champions and have four titles across franchise history, tied for the best mark of any team.
While this is Canada’s first regular-season game, it is also the country’s third time hosting a WNBA game, as Toronto and Edmonton both held preseason games in the past.

Port Moody Car Free Day
What: Sunday is the annual Port Moody Car Free Day. Leave the car at home and walk, bike, or take public transit to the celebrations on St. John’s Street between Queens and Moody Street.
St. Johns Street will be closed to all vehicle traffic between Douglas and Moody streets from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. for the family-friendly event. Make a day of it by checking out the live music and performances, plenty of food vendors, and over 100 businesses, artisans, and non-profit groups.

Voyage of the Gikumi
What: Looking for a unique summer adventure for you and the family? Experience local lore and scenic views on a two-hour guided boat tour down Fraser River’s historic Cannery Channel in Richmond.
