Hit Broadway musicals are coming to Vancouver's Stanley Park this summer
A longtime Vancouver theatre tradition returns to Stanley Park this summer with a pair of iconic Broadway musicals.
Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) has announced that its 2025 season and 85th year at the Malkin Bowl will feature Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Legally Blonde The Musical.
The shows will run on alternate evenings from June 27 to August 16, and TUTS General Manager Kevin Woo is ready to welcome audiences back for fresh air theatre.

“We are excited to welcome audiences to our 85th season of sensational musical theatre,” said Woo in a release.
“From the imaginative playfulness of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which we’re thrilled to present for the very first time in our history, to the vibrant positivity of Legally Blonde The Musical, returning to the TUTS stage for the third time due to popular demand, our summer season is chock-full of heart, humour, and hope.”

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, based on the timeless Roald Dahl children’s book, follows Charlie on a tour of the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory after he wins the rare golden ticket. Meet Augustus Gloop, Veruca Salt, Violet Beauregarde, and Mike Teavee as they compete for Wonka’s grand prize but end up getting their just desserts in this two-time Laurence Olivier Award-winning musical.
Theatre-goers can also return to class for Legally Blonde The Musical, based on the Golden Globe-nominated film starring Reese Witherspoon. Join Elle Woods in the seven-time Tony Award-nominated musical as she heads to Harvard Law School to try and win back her college sweetheart while proving to her doubters that she has what it takes to win the case and the day.
