A massive sunflower festival with food vendors and wine is now open in Richmond
Those who can’t get enough sunshine and summertime will want to head to the Richmond Sunflower Festival while the flowers are in bloom.
The seventh annual floral celebration is now welcoming guests to its over 20 acres of sunflowers and seasonal blooms at Richmond Country Farms.
Open until mid-September, the festival features dozens of varieties of stunning flowers as well as plenty of Instagram-worthy spots.

“The Richmond Sunflower Festival is about celebrating the beauty of nature while creating moments for people to connect, whether that’s a peaceful walk, a family outing, or capturing that perfect summer photo,” said Lucas of the Richmond Sunflower Festival.
“It’s an event that brings the community together in a truly memorable setting.”

The festival is organized by the family that also presents Richmond Country Farm’s popular autumn tradition, The Pumpkin Patch.
You can also enjoy tasting flights of hand-crafted, small-lot wines at the estate winery, Country Vines.

The popular wagon rides have returned and will drop you off in the massive flower fields. You can also hop on board a small train that loops around the sunflowers.
Keep an eye out for the hidden photo-ops amidst the 90 different flower varieties. And there will even be large, animated dinosaurs to entertain children of all ages.

Temperatures are looking hot for the rest of the summer, so stay refreshed with a cold drink and other treats from local food vendors.
And on your way out, make sure to pick up some fresh berries and delicious corn from Richmond Country Farms Market. It’ll be a perfect treat for a fun day out in the fields.

Cost: Admission at the gates is $14 plus GST on weekdays and $17 plus GST on weekends. Children 3-12 and seniors are $12 plus GST on weekdays and $15 plus GST on weekends. Ages 2 and under are free.
