HypeCity 5
What: The Vancouver Sneakerheads Group (VSG) and Vancouver Streetwear Community (VSC) present HypeCity 5, one of Canada’s largest sneaker and streetwear conventions with more than 70 vendors, stemming from Metro Vancouver, Alberta, Seattle and Portland, and Eastern Canada. Visitors can expect a wide range of sneakers and streetwear apparel and some of the most coveted brands in the game, including Jordan, Nike, Yeezy, Supreme, and Off-White, to name a few. Some of Vancouver’s largest sneaker and streetwear retailers will be at the event as well, including names like Bred, Heatvault, #NFS, Stay Fresh, Dipt, and Hotbox. The day will also feature Super Smash Bros Ultimate tournaments throughout the day.

Walk for Arthritis
What: Since its inception, the Walk for Arthritis has raised more than $11 million to help fund world-class research into the disease. It has also provided one million Canadians with access to information and support programs in their local communities.

Billie Eilish
What: Los Angeles music sensation Billie Eilish brings her When We All Fall Asleep World Tour to Vancouver with special guest Finneas.

NOSH Foodie Fest
What: NOSH Foodie Fest is a weekly, food-centric event taking place in the parking lot at Capilano Mall every Saturday in June. This free to attend event centred around food truck-hopping will tempt one’s taste buds, fill one’s belly, and no doubt put all foodies into a legit food coma. Rounding out the tantalizing event menu will be other activities including the “PB & Jam” DJ Booth and “There’s A Little Something On Your Face” Face Painting Station.

Lazuli Bunting Walk
What: Search for migratory birds including spectacular Lazuli Buntings on a guided birding walk. Bring binoculars if you own them. Presented by Colony Farm Park Association, for all ages.

Public Disco Laneway Series 2019
What: Vancouver’s Public Disco pop-up events will make its return this summer, transforming outdoor spaces into daytime dance parties. The 2019 Laneway Series is an all-ages summer concert series in partnership with Creative BC, Downtown Vancouver, FACTOR, and Granville Island Brewing. The Disco will be most similar to past events held by the group, showcasing feel-good music from up-and-coming artists and curated dance performances. The Laneway Cabaret will feature live music acts ranging from folk to hip hop, with DJs throughout the day.

All You Can Eat Laundry
What: A comedy variety show hosted by Maddy Kelly. It’s Maddy’s birthday, and she’s celebrating by throwing a party for the whole audience. Plus another episode of the AYCEL sitcom, Popcorn for Dinner.

Hats Off Day
What: A big street party by Burnaby Heights merchants to celebrate the community and their customers. Enjoy music, food, kids activities, a show and shine, and more.

Doors Open Richmond
What: The 12th installment of Doors Open Richmond is a weekend-long, city-wide public celebration of heritage, culture, and the arts. Forty sites with an eclectic and exciting blend of destinations will open their doors and offer culturally rich and inclusive experiences for free. These destinations include heritage sites, museums, places of worship, green spaces, specialty business, art galleries, and artist studios.

Vallea Lumina
What: Vallea Lumina the interactive experience is presented by Montreal-based entertainment studio, Moment Factory and Whistler’s very own “The Adventure Group.” Through the use of emotive lights, video, soundscape, and scenography, guests are “transported” to another world with opportunities to touch, play, and explore their new environment.

5K Foam Fest Surrey
What: The 5K Foam Fest boasts 22 of some of the best and most exciting obstacles in the world including the world’s largest inflatable waterslide, slip and slides, mucky mud pits, and 2.5 million cubic feet of foam. This year, the event takes place in Surrey, and foamy runners will get to enjoy live DJs and a vendor village. The family fun event supports the Make A Wish Foundation.
