World Cup Festivities in Yaletown
What: Yaletown is transforming into the city’s unofficial World Cup playground from June 11 to July 19.
Throughout the popular Vancouver neighbourhood, fans will discover open-air viewing spots, mini soccer fields and interactive installations, patio takeovers and culinary experiences, and photo ops and activities for all ages.
Head to Helmcken Plaza, Yaletown’s largest outdoor patio destination for FIFA, where Earls Yaletown and Yaletown Brewing Company are teaming up for experiences in the open-air setting. Enjoy the expansive outdoor seating, cold drinks, and match viewing on the patios with your friends.
Parlour and Rivian are also transforming the Hamilton Street docks into a go-to social destination. The Ultra Patio elevates the tournament into an all-day social experience, delivering food, BBQ sessions, and inviting evenings that are perfect for fans of the game and of nightlife activities.

Smut Slam
What: Smut Slam, the adult-only storytelling open mic, was created by award-winning playwright, performer, sex activist and educator Cameryn Moore. Consenting Slammers sign up at the event to tell a five-minute dirty story, based on real life.
The audience can also ask a question or share a confession in the F-BUCKET, which will be anonymously read out on stage. The open and inclusive event is hosted by DD Brassiere.

Langley Events Centre watch parties
What: Langley Events Centre is hosting free community viewing parties for the upcoming global soccer showdown, presented by the Township of Langley in partnership with Langley Events Centre, Langley United Soccer Association and Vancouver Football Club.

Future Geographies at the Vancouver Art Gallery
What: Future Geographies is a major exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery dedicated to artists making work about Climate Change. Over 35 works in a range of media created over the past 25 years will uncover the urgent relevance of sustainability and the environment as important issues of our time.
On the fourth floor, there will be an immersive forest installation presented inside a geometric dome, which transports visitors to some of BC’s last remaining ancient forests.

Pinoy Festival
What: The Pinoy Festival is taking place at Swangard Stadium, with a parade, live entertainment, a fashion show, and more.
For the first time in the event’s four-year history, the huge outdoor festival will be expanding to two days, on Saturday, June 20 and Sunday, June 21.
There will also be multicultural food offerings from across the community, and a beer garden to stay refreshed at.

Richmond Night Market
What: The Richmond Night Market is returning this month, and with it, it’ll be bringing the world’s first night market zipline, an all-new Trading Card Zone, and over 500 food items to try.
The theme for this year’s market is “Little Wonder World,” which the market describes as a “dazzling, globe-trotting adventure filled with iconic landmark decorations, vibrant displays, and a stunning themed wall designed for unforgettable moments.” There will also be a giant soccer display.

Kanteen Sundays — Alai Coffee x Kavita Restaurant Brunch Pop-up
What: Following its inclusion in the top restaurants in Canada by Canada’s 100 Best, Kavita is hosting a special brunch pop-up in collaboration with Alai Coffee.
Called Kanteen Sundays, this four-part pop-up brunch series is born from a love of old Mumbai, drawing inspiration from Irani cafés, street fruit vendors, Bombay soda culture, and what Alai shared were the “kind of mornings that make you stay longer than you planned.”
