All the outdoor movies coming to North Vancouver waterfront this summer

Get your favourite snacks and coziest blankets ready because outdoor movie season is upon us. This summer, there’s a weekly film night in the heart of The Shipyards District.
The Polygon Gallery has announced the return of Deckchair Cinema starting on Thursday, June 25, on Lower Lonsdale’s waterfront deck.
Hosted in partnership with presenting sponsor Rogers Communications and supporting sponsor Mubi, the open-air film series will feature music and entertainment, food and drinks, and more.
Admission to the fifth annual series of outdoor movies is by donation, courtesy of BMO Financial Group, and includes entrance to access Polygon Gallery’s summer exhibition Greg Girard (opening July 9), Simranpreeet Anand: Living with the Eternal, and James Harry: Eye of the Ancestor.

“This summer it’s game on as we screen some of the greatest sports films ever made,” said the gallery in a release.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs to the film screenings on Cates Deck in front of The Polygon Gallery, and VIP picnic benches can be reserved by making a donation in advance.
Live music and entertainment will be provided before the films begin at sundown. And make sure to visit the event’s concession stand for food by Nook and drinks from Strathcona Beer Company. Cates Deck is a public space zoned for alcohol consumption.
