B.C.'s largest Filipino festival returns to Burnaby this summer with major change

A popular Filipino festival is returning to Burnaby this summer, and guests are invited to embark on a cultural journey around the world just as global visitors come to town for the FIFA World Cup.
The Pinoy Festival is taking place at Swangard Stadium, with a parade, live entertainment, a fashion show, food trucks, and more.
And for the first time in the event’s four-year history, the huge outdoor festival will be expanding to two days, on Saturday, June 20 and Sunday, June 21.

“Presented under the theme, ‘One World, One Goal, One Filipino Spirit,’ the 2026 edition draws inspiration from the FIFA World Cup taking place this summer in Vancouver and across North America,” said organizers in a release.
“Just as football unites nations, Pinoy Festival unites communities through culture, heritage, food, and celebration. The theme reflects the values of teamwork, resilience, and diversity that define both the beautiful game and the Filipino spirit.”
The lineup of food vendors at B.C.’s largest Filipino festival has yet to be announced, but the Filipino culture is renowned for its delicious cuisine.
Some of the most popular Filipino street foods that you can possibly try at the volunteer-run event include chicharon bulaklak, pansit, ginanggang, and BBQ skewers.
There will also be multicultural food offerings from across the community, and a beer garden to stay refreshed at.

In addition to food vendors and food trucks, there will be artisan and community booths, cultural performances, art exhibits, and family-friendly activities for all ages.
Highlights include a solidarity parade showcasing Filipino organizations and multicultural
communities, a pop-up market, an art exhibition, an educational fashion show, and high-energy Zumba.
Guests during the two-day event can also dance along to a DJ takeover and a concert featuring Filipino and local musical acts.
