Vancouver restaurant closes its doors after 57 years

After a monumental 57-year-long run, Trocadero Pizza and Steak House has closed the doors to its Vancouver location.
In March, the restaurant shared that it would be closing its doors in May.
“This past February may have been one of our busiest months on record. So many of you have come in to dine with us, showing your care and support during this uncertain time.
The kindness we’ve received has been deeply moving and truly overwhelming. We are incredibly grateful,” wrote Trocadero.

Trocadero is best known for its selection of Italian and Greek cuisines, with a special focus on steaks and pizzas, which were “cooking in the old style using all-natural ingredients.”
However, the restaurant also shared that it is in search of a new home.
While an exact location has yet to be shared, Trocadero did say that it will be sharing more details in the following weeks.

Many took to the comments of the original closure announcement to share how much they would miss the restaurant.
“We love you folks so much. So sad to hear, but what a wonderful legacy your family has left on this city. You’re our favourite date night spot,” wrote one person on Instagram.
“East side staple and legacy! Congratulations on so many years of memories and success!” added another.
“An institution in East Vancouver. A great family-run restaurant,” shared a third.
