New family-run Indonesian grocery store to open in Vancouver

A new grocery store is preparing to open its doors in Vancouver, and it plans to offer a variety of authentic Indonesian goods and ready-made meals to the neighbourhood.
Called Toko Convenience, the new spot is coming to Strathcona on the corner of East Hastings and Raymur Avenue.
“Toko started with a simple problem. As Indonesians, we couldn’t find the Indonesian products we love here in Vancouver. The snacks, spices, and pantry staples we grew up with were either hard to track down or nowhere to be found. So we decided to open our own shop and bring them here ourselves,” wrote the store on its website.
The store plans to offer plenty of products straight from Indonesia, including snacks, cooking ingredients, spice packs, and more.
“You’ll find familiar flavours like Indomie, along with harder-to-find treats you might not have seen since your last trip home (or ever!),” added Toko.
Plus, the store has added that after its soft opening, it plans to offer an assortment of ready-to-eat meals for folks to enjoy.
“Our goal is to make Indonesian food a little less mysterious and a lot more accessible, with great value for our community. Whoever you are, there’s something here for you,” said Toko.
