Vancouver spot lands on world-renowned guide for cocktail bars

The awards just keep on coming, and now a Vancouver bar has joined a world-renowned list of the best watering holes.
The Pinnacle Guide is an accolade of excellence for cocktail bars with a three “pin” system, where restaurants can receive one, two, or three pins. One pin means “excellent,” while two pins mean “outstanding,” and three pins mean “exceptional.”
The only way for a bar to be considered for a pin is self-nomination. One, two, or three pins are then awarded following spot-check interviews and multiple visits from anonymous, local reviewers.
“As well as recognizing excellence in drinks, ambience, and hospitality, the Pinnacle Guide will be rewarding operators that make a positive social impact,” said the guide on its website.
As for the most recent addition to the guide, Vancouver’s L’abbatoir has received a pin.
“We are beyond thrilled to see our bar team recognized by @thepinnacleguide with a pin highlighting their hard work, creativity, and hospitality. A huge congratulations to our small but mighty team. We’re proud of the work you do every day and grateful to see it celebrated,” shared the bar on its Instagram.

L’Abattoir first opened its doors in 2010 and has since received many accolades, including being a Michelin-recommended dining destination. Here, the team, led by Executive Chef Jasper Cruichshank, is serving French-influenced West Coast cuisine through its seasonal tasting menus alongside premium steaks and seafood, cocktails, and wines.
“Set within Vancouver’s first jail in historic Gastown, this bar pairs technique-driven classics with a deep, personal knowledge of its regulars,” wrote The Pinnacle Guide on its website.
