B.C. grocery chain announces new 21,000 sq. ft. location in Vancouver
B.C.-based grocery chain Fresh St. Market has announced plans for its 11th location at 2585 Hastings St. in Vancouver’s Hastings-Sunrise neighbourhood.
“Hastings-Sunrise has a deep sense of community and a strong appreciation for fresh, local food,” said Palle Knudsen, vice president of retail operations and marketing at Fresh St. Market.
“Our 11th location and third in Vancouver, this store reflects our continued commitment to creating welcoming food destinations that make everyday shopping easier, more inspiring, and more connected to B.C. producers.”

Expected to open in Fall 2027, the location will be 21,452 sq. ft. and one of the retail anchor tenants at the Alba building alongside London Drugs.
Here, customers will find the full Fresh St. Market experience, complete with locally sourced produce, Certified Angus Beef, fresh seafood, a bakery, deli, and chef-inspired prepared foods. Guests will also be able to find freshly made sushi, Peak Donuts (known for its savoury Cheddar and Onion Fritter), hot-off-the-plate cookies, a burrito bar, carvery, and an expanded hot bar with seating for those looking for a quick meal.

This location will also support Fresh St. Market’s community programs, including its partnership with FoodMesh to help redirect surplus edible food into the equivalent of nearly three million meals for charities and individuals across B.C.

Fresh St. Market has been making big moves when it comes to expansion, with a 26,000 sq. ft. location expected to open next year at CF Richmond Centre and the recent opening of its new Kitsilano location at the end of 2025.
