There’s been a number of restaurant and bar closures in Vancouver recently, and there’s another one on the horizon that should be noted.

Popular neighbourhood mom-and-pop eatery The Spot Cafe has confirmed to Daily Hive that its last day of operation will be this Sunday, October 27.

This 805 Denman Street joint was known for serving up breakfast and lunch offerings in Vancouver’s West End.

Owners of The Spot Cafe shared a message of thanks to loyal patrons, also confirming they are planning to retire after closing up shop.

These last few weeks have been really touching as our regulars past and present have been coming in to say goodbye. We are in our last couple weeks of operation and we retire at the end of the month. Thank you to the neighborhood for all the years of being part of the community. We will dearly miss you all and will be savoring the time we have left.
