Dine Out Vancouver may be over, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t any more great deals to be had when dining out in Metro Vancouver. For instance, Taste of the Tri-Cities is the perfect opportunity to enjoy some good eating around Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, and Port Moody.

Taking place from Feb. 15 to March 15, select restaurants around the Tri-Cities will be offering special menus at discounted prices for you to enjoy.

Whether it’s a hot new restaurant you’ve eyeing since it opened or a long-standing favourite, there are plenty of places to go during this year’s festivities. But with so many options, it can be hard to choose which ones to check out.

That’s why we compiled a list of some standout offerings during this year’s Taste of the Tri-Cities. From multi-course feasts to sweet little treats, this list has it all.

Gigi’s by Ask For Luigi

Perhaps one of the hottest new restaurants to open in the Tri-Cities last year, Gigi’s by Ask For Luigi is cooking up a multi-course meal for $60 per person, where you’ll be able to try an assortment of dishes.

Start with your choice of antipasti between the Burrata Pugliese (roasted grape agrodolce, sultana, toasted walnuts, Sicilian olive oil, and crostini) or Tuna Crudo (orange, pickled onions, caperberry, fennel, and chili vinaigrette). Then, move on to your choice of main with options like the Mafaldine al Cinghiale (braised Canadian wild boar, dolceforte, parmigiano reggiano, roasted pine nuts, and fried sage) and Gnocchi Alla Vodka (Sardinian ricotta, vodka, calabrian chili, passata, parmigiano reggiano, and herb oil) before enjoying some Gelato in varieties like Amarena cherry, pistachio, or stracciatella.

Once you’re done, you can pop into the Nemesis location in the same building for a quick coffee.

Nonna’s Cucina Coquitlam

When a set menu serves an entire course of just pasta in addition to an entree, we tend to take notice.

This four-course set menu for two, coming in at $89, has you start with a choice from its burrata bar offerings (all served with toasted focaccia, of course). Options include Poached Pear and ProsciuttoCaprese with Balsamic StrawberriesPistachio Pesto and Basil, and more.

You’ll then move on to your pasta course, which includes options that are not limited to Mezze Rigatoni with Pomodoro and Fennel Sausage and Herbed Ricotta GnocchiEntrees include the Grilled Swordfish with White Bean Puree and CaponataTruffle Mushroom Winter Risotto, or the Osso Bucco Milanese, which is available for an additional $15.

End your meal with a choice of dessert between its Classic Homemade TiramisuAlmond Ricotta Cannoli, or the Chocolate Hazelnut Mascarpone Mousse.

Osteria Povera

Osteria Povera is serving up multi-course menus during Taste of the Tri-Cities, including a $35 lunch set menu and a $79 menu for two for dinner.

Personally, we’re a big fan of the Panzerotti starter on the dinner menu (fried dough stuffed with Calabrese salami and mozzarella) and the Spaghetti e Polpette (Pomodoro sauce with beef and pork meatballs), but it’s hard to go wrong with whatever Osteria Povera is serving.

Saku Burquitlam

A main and a dessert for $33 sounds like a great deal to us.

Saku is offering a choice between its Curry Set (which is served with an assortment of rosu, mini hire, ebi, menchi cheese, eggplant, and squash) or its Vegetable Curry Set (which comes with tofu, yam, eggplant, squash, and a potato croquette). You’ll then finish your meal with its Mochi Ice Cream.

If you haven’t had the chance to experience Saku’s crispy katsu, consider this your opportunity.
