If you’re at a farmers market or food truck festival, you’re most likely to run into Taco Nori’s food truck, offering its take on sushi in the form of a taco. Now, the concept is expanding by opening its first-ever brick-and-mortar here in Vancouver.

The brand got its start all the way back in 2018 as a stall at the Richmond Night Market under the name Nori Express until it expanded to a ghost kitchen concept in 2021. Since then, it’s transitioned to a food truck concept that hits food festivals across Metro Vancouver.

For those unfamiliar, Taco Nori serves deep-fried seaweed taco shells filled with toppings you’d typically find in sushi rolls. Think spicy salmon, chicken karaage, and California and wakame nori tacos.

Located at 595 Burrard St., you can find this new location by going down the first flight of stairs to the left of Burrard Station (or under the BMO). Taco Nori Bentall Centre opens its doors on May 20 and will operate Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Be sure to check its Instagram for updated hours and offerings.
