Vancouver was naturally excited when Jinmi, which boasted being the first soy-marinated crab restaurant in North America, opened its doors in the city. Now, the team behind the restaurant has shared that it will be transitioning the location into a new Korean pub concept.

Called Jinmi Juga, the pub will open in the current space of the original soy-marinated crab restaurant Jinmi at 854 Denman St.

“Experience the best Korean soul food and culture with perfectly paired anju (drinking snacks) and a wide selection of Korean drinks. Come and taste the true flavours of Korea!” shared the restaurant.

To help facilitate the transition, Jinmi will be closed from May 31 before the location reopens as Jinmi Juga on June 16.

But don’t sound the alarms just yet. While the much-loved soy-marinated crab won’t be offered at this new pub concept, it’ll be moving to a new location at 782 Cambie St., inside Hotel Blu, and will reopen on June 5.
