Here's what's happening to the Richmond restaurant that closed after Tesla ‘N’ driver crashed into it

Nearly two years ago, a Chung Chun Rice Hot Dog location in Richmond was forced to close after a Tesla “N” driver crashed into it. After the incident, many were speculating about the future of the location and if it would reopen. Now, we finally know what the future of this spot is, and it’s not going to be another Chung Chun location.
On its website, Shawarma 2 Go Grill has shared that it will be opening up in the former Korean corn dog restaurant.
“We are thrilled to bring a new location to the city that builds on the success of our first restaurant,” said Shawarma 2 Go.

The restaurant, which also has a location at the Seafair Shopping Centre, first opened earlier this year and is best known for its authentic Mediterranean cuisine. On the menu, you can find options like Tombik (a Turkish-style bun with chicken shawarma and other toppings), falafels, lamb shanks, and more.
An opening date for this new location has yet to be announced, but once it opens, this will be the restaurant’s second location in Metro Vancouver.
Chung Chun Richmond initially closed its doors on Oct. 27, with many sharing images of the crashed Tesla online. Currently, the Korean corn dog brand operates three locations throughout Metro Vancouver in Burnaby, New Westminster, and Vancouver.
