While there are a ton of new eateries open and opening soon, we’ve compiled a shortlist of some of our must-tries that are seriously living up to the hype.

Here are some new Vancouver restaurants you need to try right now.

Brass Fish Tavern

When you enter, you’ll walk right into the main tavern area. It’s outfitted to mimic the feels you’d get on a ship with an upholstered bar and nautical nods around the room. To the right is the izakaya portion of the new restaurant. This space can easily be spotted, as a huge whale skeleton hangs overhead and is pretty impossible to miss.

Glitch has a sprawling 4,000 sq. ft. of space, and there’s tons of breathing room for up to 137 people at a time, but we can tell you it’s been packed with games, tongue-in-cheek art, memorabilia, seats, couches, and booths, and there are more things to play on the way…not to mention that buzz-worthy women’s bathroom.

Coho Collective currently operates two other commissary locations on Powell and in North Vancouver’s Creekside, but the new flagship space will be home to the brand’s first in-house cafe concept, Coho Coffee. The 16-seat cafe will offer Elysian Coffee, pastries, and eventually grab-and-go lunch options and retail products made by Coho members.

Doug Stephen and Lindsey Mann have a new concept, and this time, they’re all about serving fresh eats caught straight off the coast. Catchweight is the dynamic duo’s newest food truck venture. It’s named after both a boxing term and a word used to describe the weight of seafood. It will officially be hitting the streets on Thursday, March 5, when you can find it parked in front of Resurrection Spirits in East Vancouver.
