Inside Glitch, Vancouver's big new retro arcade bar (PHOTOS)
Vancouver just got a brand new spot to get into all the games and Hey Y’All slushies that you could dream of.
Glitch, a retro game and arcade bar, is definitely lit — no seriously, there’s a lot of lights in here, as it’s an ’80s and ’90s-themed dream.
The new Kitsilano destination is softly open at 2287 W Broadway in the former location of a darts spot called “I Darts Color,” and things have certainly changed in here.

Glitch has a sprawling 4,000 sq. ft. of space, and there’s tons of breathing room for up to 137 people at a time, but we can tell you it’s been packed with games, tongue-in-cheek art, memorabilia, seats, couches, and booths, and there are more things to play on the way.
This bar is all about good times and the name of the game is fun.
Patrons can enjoy free consoles like Nintendo 64 (Mario Kart is available, don’t worry) along with table games like Connect Four and Jenga — if they aren’t taking part in the dance parties that will surely go down here.
Skee-Ball, Arcade Hoops Basketball, Pool, Air Hockey, and the many pinball machines will all cost you a bit to play, but it’s definitely worth the coin.
The bar here is fully stocked, and Glitch offers four different kinds of boozy adult slushies, including a bright yellow Hey Y’all variety.
When it comes to food, in-house burger joint Mimi’s offers a small selection of handhelds, including a vegetarian burger.
If you’re looking for more of a snack and less of a meal, Glitch has a variety of corner store-esque goodies you can purchase and enjoy on-site as well.
The array includes mini and full-size chocolate bars, classic bags of chips, microwave popcorn, and everyone’s favourite easy childhood dinner — Pizza Pops.
There’s a microwave available for customers to warm up these purchases, or alternatively they can take them home as a late-night snack after leaving Glitch.
All this seems like enough to be excited about right? Wrong.
Ladies, wait until you see the women’s bathroom (and yes, it tops the rubber duck one at Laurence and Chico — trust).
Glitch is open Monday to Thursday from 3 pm to 1 am, Friday and Saturday from 3 pm to 2 am, and Sunday from 3 to 11:30 pm.
The official grand opening party is going down on February 29. It’s retro-themed, and that means it’s time to break out your neon ’80s and ’90s gear and check this new spot out.
