Vancouver’s Chinatown just got a new spot for brunch now that Loreto has officially opened its doors.

Located at 219 Union St., the space was previously the home of the Asian-fusion restaurant The Union (which closed in 2022) and La Cerveceria Astilleros.

On the menu at Loreto, you’ll find a selection of Mexican-inspired fare including the Chandwich (a toasted brioche bun layered with eggs, smoked bacon, melted cheese, avocado, tomato, and house chipotle mayo), the Loreto Meltdown (slow-braised beef birria and melted cheese pressed on toasted artisan sourdough bread and topped with pickled red onions and served with birria consommé for dipping), and Lecherita Pancakes (buttermilk pancakes mixed with banana and topped with coconut tres leches cream, fresh berries, house-hipped cream, toasted coconut, and roasted macadamia nuts).

“At Loreto, every dish reflects care, intention, and a balance of tradition and modernity,” shared the restaurant. “We embrace our Mexican roots while offering an open, contemporary menu filled with both familiar favorites and exciting new flavors to enjoy.”

The restaurant is also open for dinner, offering a selection of tacos, burritos, nachos, and more.

Loreto is officially open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
