Here's what's replaced the iconic Megabite Pizza on Granville
Back in July, Megabite Pizza closed the doors to one of its most iconic locations in Vancouver on Granville, leaving many naturally upset.
“Dear Vancouver, thank you for every slice, every laugh, and every late night. Whether you found us at lunch or at 2 a.m., you kept showing up ā and we can’t tell you how much that means to us. It has been an honour to be your go-to spot on the strip for over 15 years,” wrote Megabite on its website.
This location had been a popular spot for many in the area looking for a quick bite after a late night on the town.
“The pizza that raised and fed us all through our teens/twentiesšš½šš pouring a little ranch out for you Megabite,” shared one person when Dished shared the news of the closure on Instagram.
“If this isnāt the sign of end times, I donāt know what is,” wrote a second person.
“RIP to mac and cheese pizza slices after The Roxy š,” added a third.
However, a new pizza shop called Local Pizza has opened on the corner, hoping to fill the void Megabite has left.
“GRANVILLE STREET JUST GOT TASTIER. šš„We’re bringing the LOCAL love to the heart of downtown Vancouver! Our doors are officially open. Your next favourite slice is waiting,” wrote the pizza chain on its Instagram.

Local Pizza currently operates 14 additional locations throughout B.C., including locations in Victoria, Nanaimo, Campbell River, Comox, Courtenay, and Duncan. On its website, it also has a Fraser Street location listed as “opening soon.”
On the menu, you can find a selection of classic pies in addition to offerings like Butter Chicken, Mexican Chicken Taco, and more.
The chain also offers a selection of plant-based pizzas and sides like baked penne pasta, chicken wings, cheesy bread, chocolate molten lava cake, and more. But don’t worry, pizzas can be ordered by the slice.

Local Pizza Granville is currently open daily from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m.
