Neighbourhood cafe to reopen inside Vancouver's longest-running hotel

It was a sad day when we reported that Estratto Coffee would be closing its doors at the end of 2024. However, we’ve now received some happy news from the cafe in the form of a new location opening in Vancouver soon.
“After months of navigating permits and paperwork, we’re finally brewing again,” shared Estratto online.

For those unfamiliar, Estratto calls itself a “tiny neighbourhood cafe” and serves a small menu of classic cafe drinks and baked goods.
In December 2024, the cafe shared that it would be closing its location at 260 E. 5th Ave., Vancouver. “Our sublease is ending, and the new leaseholder has chosen not to keep us in this space,” said the cafe.
The new location can be found at 336 West Pender St., Vancouver, in the retail space of the Victorian Hotel building, also known as Vancouver’s longest-running hotel, which was built in 1898. Estratto is also just steps away from Italian restaurant Locanda dell’Orso, which opened its doors early last year.
Estratto plans to soft open on May 4 and will operate from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
