Vancouver cafe shuts down second location, says it was 'impossible to sustain'
A neighbourhood spot known for its modern take on traditional Vietnamese drinks has closed one of its Vancouver locations.
Hem 337 shared that its Commercial Drive cafe is now permanently shuttered. The business, which still operates at its original 5026 Victoria Dr. location, opened its second outpost in fall 2023.
“This wasn’t an easy decision. We poured our heart into that space, but with high operational costs in this economy, it became impossible to sustain both locations while keeping the quality and care we believe in,” the brand shared in a caption on Instagram.

Hem thanked its supporters for the love over the years, and urged folks to come and visit the Victoria Drive location moving forward.
