The Boathouse Restaurant to close its final location in New Westminster
The Boathouse Restaurant has made the unfortunate announcement that it will be closing its final location in New Westminster.
Staff at the location confirmed over the phone that its final day of operation will be Dec. 26, marking the end of an era for the brand.
Dished also reached out to Landry’s Inc., the parent company of The Boathouse Restaurant.
“After many years of serving the New Westminster community, The Boathouse Restaurant will close on or around December 26, following the expiration of its lease,” said Shah Ghani, COO of The Boathouse Restaurant. “We are incredibly grateful to our dedicated team members, loyal guests, and the community for their support over the years. Our priority in the months ahead is supporting our employees through this transition while continuing to provide the hospitality and dining experience our guests have come to know and love through our final day of service.”
This announcement follows the closure of The Boathouse Restaurant’s locations in White Rock and Kitsilano, which both shuttered on Sept. 21, 2025, and the closure of its Port Moody location on April 23, 2026.
At the time of the closure of White Rock and Kitsilano, Ghani said, “We are grateful for everyone who has made our time at these locations special, and are thankful to our dedicated employees for their hard work throughout the years.”

While we still don’t know what will be opening in the White Rock location, we have received confirmation that the Hawksworth Restaurant Group (known for operating its namesake restaurant at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia, as well as Nightingale Restaurant and Bel Cafe) will be opening a new concept at The Boathouse Restaurant’s former Kitsilano outpost. As for the Port Moody location, Local Public Eatery is set to take over the space with an opening scheduled for 2027.
