Cult-favourite Montreal-based salad chain to open first Vancouver location this month
Ever since it debuted in Montreal over 20 years ago, Mandy’s Gourmet Salads has taken salad lovers by storm. Now, the cult-favourite salad chain is preparing to open its first-ever West Coast location in Kitsilano this month.
The new location is designed as an express-format spot with a 16-seat outdoor patio. Here, folks will find the full Mandy’s menu complete with its signature salads, dressings, smoothies, bowls, and more.
There will even be a Kits-exclusive salad only available at this location, titled the Salmon by the Sea. This salad will feature smoked salmon, avocado, French beans, purple cabbage, quinoa, and a tempura sesame crunch, all tossed in a lemon dill dressing.
And it’s not just the menu that is getting the special, Kits-inspired treatment.

“Our restaurants have always been inspired by our travels and design elements from around the world, with each taking on a personality of its own,” says Rebecca Wolfe, co-founder of Mandy’s Salads. “For Kitsilano, being steps from the beach, we really wanted to lean into that playful, coastal feeling. The space pulls inspiration from the sun, water and colours of the West Coast, with warm yellows, soft pinks, palm trees and fun beach-inspired details.”
Mandy’s will open its doors on Sept. 23 and operate daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Additionally, Mandy’s will be offering an exclusive Mandy’s Vancouver tote bag and complimentary ice cream sandwich with every purchase on opening day, while supplies last.

The salad chain is also looking to expand further into Vancouver, with a Coal Harbour location planned for the future.
“Vancouver already eats the way we’ve always believed food should taste: fresh, real ingredients, nothing from a bag. Kits has the patio culture and easy energy that’s always been part of who we are, so it made sense to plant our flag here first. This is just the beginning; our flagship on West Cordova is next,” added Mandy Wolfe, co-founder of Mandy’s Salads.
