12 best sushi spots in Vancouver

Feb 3 2020, 5:00 pm

Vancouver’s proximity to the Pacific Ocean has made the city synonymous with good sushi.

Whether you’re looking for high-end, intimate sushi bars, or low-brow bang-for-your buck joints, there’s a sushi spot to fit every budget and occasion.

While there are dozens of restaurants dotting the blocks in nearly every Vancouver neighbourhood, only a handful live up to the title of some of the best sushi restaurants in North America.

From one-of-a-kind omakase dinners to homegrown signature rolls to straight-from-the-market Japanese fish, here are some of our must-try sushi spots in Vancouver.

You may miss the Lobby Lounge as you stroll through the Fairmont Pacific Rim’s lobby up to Botanist or out to Giovane for a sugar bun, but we’d urge you to stay and enjoy the delicious rolls from the main floor eatery. This spot also does an epic Spot Prawn Long Table feast during late spring, perhaps you should time your visit around then.
