Toronto Police have requested the public’s assistance identifying a man who allegedly posed as a rideshare driver and sexually assaulted a woman over the weekend.
According to police, on Saturday, April 20 around 3:15 am, officers responded to a call for a sexual assault in the area of King Street West and Shaw Street.
Police say a 34-year-old woman had ordered a car online and when she was approached by a man posing as her driver, she got into his dark four-door sedan.
She was then sexually assaulted, police say.

Authorities have described the suspect as a 30 to 35-year-old male, with a dark brown complexion, a young-looking face, stocky build and wearing a red shirt.
The police are now reminding the public that when ordering transportation via a rideshare app, to make sure they verify the make, model, and licence plate of the vehicle before entering it.
