This brunch restaurant adds to the long list of closures in downtown Edmonton

Wilfred’s joins the increasing number of downtown Edmonton restaurants closing down this year, and we couldn’t be sadder to see it go.

Located in a quaint 100-year-old heritage brick building, Wilfred’s originally opened in 2018. This popular brunch spot had a grip on Edmonton’s Brewery District, and it’s been busy for just over eight years.

Unfortunately, this week the team behind the restaurant announced that this would be their last week.

These past few weeks have seen an increasing number of closures from restaurants in the downtown area. From Bündok to Kb&co’s original location, not to mention Rhubarb Cafe & Cocktails, downtown Edmonton spots are closing left and right. It’s such a shame that Wilfred’s had to join the list.

“Thank you for supporting us as a small restaurant and helping Wilfred’s grow into something far more meaningful than we ever imagined. The connections we have made over the years created a true sense of community, and that is all thanks to you,” says the team on Instagram.

Officially, the last day open will be this Saturday, July 26. Don’t miss out on your chance to have brunch with this Edmonton all-star restaurant before its doors close for good.

“We are incredibly grateful to have been a part of this community. You all are what gave Wilfred’s its character,” finishes the team. “We will always and forever be the place to be.”
