Another downtown Edmonton restaurant shutters after nine years

Bündok is yet another restaurant located in Edmonton’s downtown core that closed this year, joining an ongoing list of many excellent spots in the city that have shuttered.
Since the year began, more and more restaurants have closed in downtown Edmonton. Even the Boston Pizza, which was one of the oldest standing franchise locations in the city, closed this year in March. This past weekend, Greta was yet another name to announce its closure.
Bündok in particular was known for offering fresh, locally sourced dishes crafted to offer a unique dining experience. With a unique and intimate atmosphere combined with finely crafted drinks and eats, it was perfect for date nights, family dinners, and special evenings out with friends.
Sadly, we won’t be able to make more memories at this spot any longer, as the Bündok team announced its permanent closure over the weekend.

“Thanks for all of the memories. It’s been an absolute honour serving you all for the last nine and a half years. We truly loved being a part of the community and letting us be a part of your special occasions, anniversaries, birthdays, and your regular night out,” reads the team’s Instagram post.
Although the exact reason for closing wasn’t outright stated, it’s not exactly a secret that restaurants in Edmonton have been facing more and more challenges.
“Sadly, the time has come for us to shut our doors. Running a restaurant is tough at the best of times, and as things have continued to mount up against us, we’ve decided the best thing to do is move on,” the team continued.
“From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, Edmonton. For allowing us to do what we loved for nearly a decade.”
