World-famous burger spot opening its first Canadian drive-thru location in Calgary
Just months after opening its very first Calgary location, Shake Shack’s second outpost is set to open before the month is out, and it’s going to be a Canadian first.
The burger joint is set to open its newest location at 9253 Macleod Tr. SW on Thursday, Aug. 27. But the main selling point here is that this will be Shake Shack’s first Canadian location with a drive-thru.
The hype surrounding Shake Shack has been immense since opening its first Alberta outpost at the CF Chinook Centre in May, so it’s exciting to see a new location popping up so fast.

One of the defining features at the outpost will be a hand-painted mural by local artist Larissa Schuler, featuring iconic Alberta and Shake Shack imagery, and it will be visible for those heading through the drive-thru. There’ll also be space to dine-in.
Guests using the drive-thru will be able to get their hands on a drive-thru combo meal to make the experience faster and more seamless so they can be back on the road ASAP. The location will also serve up Alberta-exclusive treats such as the Prairie Berry Shake and all their Shack favourites.
The spot will be opening at 10:30 a.m., and the first 100 vehicles will receive some limited-edition merch to commemorate the occasion.
If previous launches such as Chick-fil-A and Krispy Kreme are anything to go by, lines could get long, so you may want to set your alarm for this one.
