Beloved Vietnamese pop-up closing in Calgary for the most wholesome reason
One of Calgary’s favourite spots for Vietnamese food is set to close later this month. While it’s still sad news for foodies, it’s actually closing for a very wholesome reason.
Pure Saigonese Kitchen, the popular Vietnamese pop-up from Chef Lam Pham, shared that it will be winding down operations at the end of the month, with its final service on Aug. 30. However, the team also shared some extremely exciting news.
“Behind the scenes, our family is growing! Chef Lam is thrilled to be welcoming a new little member to the family very soon. Right now, his primary focus is spending this precious time with his family,” the team said on Instagram.

The team also thanked Morning Brunch Co., which has been hosting the Pure Saigonese Kitchen pop-up at its West Springs location for the last eight months.
Over the years, Chef Lam has become a notable figure in YYC’s food scene, with his culinary chops recognized by one of the biggest names in the foodie world, Guy Fieri. The mayor of Flavourtown paid a visit to Pure Street Food and cooked with Pham on his TV show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
While Pure Saigonese Kitchen will be winding down, Calgarians will still be able to enjoy dining at its sister spot, Pure Street Food, located at First Street Market.
