World-renowned burger spot to open its first Canadian drive-thru location
Just weeks after opening its first Calgary location to a lot of fanfare, Shake Shack is set to open a new location in the city, and it’ll be a first for Canada.
The popular burger joint is gearing up to open a brand-new outpost at 9253 Macleod Tr. SW this fall, which will be the first in Canada with a drive-thru.
According to Billy Richmond, business director at Shake Shack Canada, Calgary was the obvious choice for Canada’s first drive-thru for the brand.

“It’s a city where driving is a part of everyday life, and we wanted to create a Shack experience that offers guests greater convenience year-round. Hospitality is at the heart of everything we do, and the drive-thru gives us another way to deliver that experience beyond our restaurant walls,” he said.
With the immense hype surrounding Shake Shack since the chain opened its first Alberta outpost at the CF Chinook Centre last month, news of a second location is welcome.
The location will see the same commitment to quality as seen at Shake Shack locations across the country, with 100% Alberta beef burgers, crinkle cut fries, and of course, its signature milkshakes on the menu.
With other chains, including Krispy Kreme and Chick-fil-A, causing huge buzz when they opened their first locations on Macleod Trail, we anticipate that Shake Shack’s newest venture will be just as popular.
