4 restaurants that recently closed or are closing soon in Calgary
Calgary saw plenty of restaurant openings over the past few weeks, but the city also said goodbye to some familiar spots.
While some are just closed temporarily, others have sadly closed their doors for good.
So if you’re not up to date with the latest restaurant news, here are some of the biggest closures we’ve seen in Calgary.

Yellow Door Bistro

Yellow Door Bistro, a contemporary bistro located at Hotel Arts on 12th Avenue SW, has revealed that it is winding down service, 13 years after it first opened. No reason was given for the closure.
“Thank you to everyone who has visited, celebrated and dined with us over the years. We’re incredibly grateful to have been part of so many occasions, big and small,” the post said.

Weaselhead Bar & Grill

Weaselhead Bar & Grill has revealed that it has been forced to close its doors for the time being due to conflict with its property manager.
In an Instagram post, the team said there were “irreconcilable differences” with the property manager, and as a result, it would be “pausing operations.”

Koko Japanese Eatery + Convenience

Koko Japanese Eatery + Convenience, the sister brand to YYC’s beloved Ryuko restaurants, has revealed it will be closing its location at 620a 17th Ave. SW.
“After an incredible journey, it’s time for us to say goodbye to Koko. Our final day will be Sept. 30,” the spot said on Instagram.

Ricardo’s Hideaway

Ricardo’s Hideaway, the popular haunt for rum-based cocktails and endless summer vibes, has revealed it’s saying “bon voyage” at the end of the year, after a decade in business.
To celebrate an epic 10 years at its home just off 17th Avenue, Ricardo’s will be hosting a summer-long farewell party to see it out in style, with surprise rum specials, late-night endless jerk crab and wings, and $10 rum cocktails.
