An enormous grocery store that’s set to open just outside Calgary finally has an official opening date, and there isn’t long to wait.

Last year, it was revealed that Real Canadian Superstore would be opening a huge new store at Buffalo Run in Tsuut’ina Nation, and now, the location is gearing up for its grand opening on Thursday, Nov. 26.

Spanning a colossal 102,300 square feet, the new Superstore will offer everything from fresh produce, full-service meat, seafood, and bakery departments to household essentials.

The Real Canadian Superstore consulted with the Tsuut’ina-Taza Cultural Advisory Working Group during the design phase of the store, making it the first location in Alberta to be developed alongside the Indigenous community.

The store will also feature custom artwork from four Indigenous artists, Aaron Angus Rattlesnake, Maria One Spot, Irene Crowchild, and Brianna Rowan-Meguinis, all of which will be revealed on opening day.

“There has been so much care and collaboration behind bringing this store to life, and our team is incredibly excited for customers to finally experience it,” said Jonathan Carroll, senior vice president at Real Canadian Superstore, Loblaw Companies Limited.

“We’re proud to be joining the Buffalo Run community and look forward to serving our neighbours for many years to come.”

The grand opening celebration will kick off at 7 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 26.
