Canadian ice cream brand Chapman’s just won the Best Ice Cream award at the International Ice Cream Conference 2026 for its Pecan Butter Tart Premium Ice Cream.

“From a beloved Canadian classic to the world’s best scoop, Chapman’s is bringing Canada’s sweetest traditions to the global stage,” shared the ice cream brand in an Instagram post. “Inspired by one of Canada’s most iconic desserts, this winning flavour proved that a true Canadian favourite could steal the hearts, and the taste buds, from around the globe.”

The Pecan Butter Tart flavour is described by Chapman as including “luscious butter tart flavoured ice cream with gentle hints of maple, filled with praline pecans and pieces of buttery sugar cookies.”

Chapman’s is the largest independent ice cream manufacturer in Canada, is based in Markdale, Ont., and has been making ice cream and other frozen treats since 1973.

This isn’t the first time that Chapman’s has won an award at the International Ice Cream Conference, with the brand being named Ice Cream Maker of the Year in 2025. Last year, it also won the Most Innovative Ice Cream Flavour award for its sweetgrass ice cream, which it developed alongside chef Zach Keeshig.
