It’s the end of an era for many Calgarians, as one of the city’s longstanding bakeries is set to close next month.

Forest Lawn Bakery is reportedly closing its doors in November after almost 30 years in business.

In a note posted at Forest Lawn Bakery’s location at 4527 8th Ave. SE, and shared on social media, bakery owner and operator Danny La revealed that it would be closing on Sunday, Nov. 8.

“Deciding to close was a difficult decision, but as the owners prepare for retirement, it is the right time for this transition,” the sign reads.

The spot has been a mainstay in the city for decades, known for its Asian-inspired bakes such as BBQ pork buns, coconut buns, and beautifully decorated cakes.

Dished has reached out to Forest Lawn Bakery for confirmation on the closure, but did not hear back by the time of publication.
