After beginning its journey as a popular six-month pop-up at Meat & Bread, Francine’s has just opened its first permanent outpost in Chinatown.
The “petit French bar” concept is being brought to life by bar manager Nate Wry and chef Garrett Martin. Its menu focuses on showcasing old-world cocktails, spirits and aperitifs alongside tavern-focused and a concise menu of French-accented fare.

The spot offers a wide range of coffee beverages from espresso-based drinks, handbrewed coffee, and a great selection of decaf options for those who are more sensitive to caffeine.
The spot even offers specialty coffee flights where guests can sample different types of beans, showcased through various brewing techniques.

While its main bar, which offers familiar beverages such as drip coffee and Original Creation drinks as well as snacks from its kitchen and baked goods from local partners, the experience bar offers single-origin pour-overs and premium teas.

Marugame Udon

Calgary has finally got its first outpost of the world-famous Marugame Udon.
The fast-casual, 50-seat restaurant features a theatre-style kitchen, where diners will get a front row seat where they can watch the entire udon-making process from beginning to end.
Marugame Udon will be bringing some of its fan-favourite dishes to YYC, including its Kake Udon, Nikutama Udon, and the Chicken Katsu Curry with Udon. Each dish is made to order using freshly prepared udon noodles.
