Guy Fieri-approved Calgary restaurant forced to close due to rising costs

A popular Calgary taco spot, which scored the seal of approval from none other than Guy Fieri, has been forced to close.
The Moose and Poncho, known for its locations at First Street Market and Ogden, confirmed that it had closed its doors at its Calgary locations, due to the rising cost of ingredients.
“Unfortunately, high prices in quality products forced us to close our doors. We are always focused on bringing the best to your plate, and our values come first before even thinking of lowering our standards,” the team shared.

The restaurant, led by Chef Miguel Cornejo, served up some of the most authentic tacos around with toppings such as carnitas, birria, cactus leaves, and mushrooms and a variety of flavourful salsas to customize each bite.
After rising in popularity in Calgary over the years, Moose and Poncho’s First Street Market outpost was featured on Fieri’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
For those who will miss Moose and Poncho, the team will still be taking corporate and private events, as well as hosting cooking classes.
