Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’re probably well aware that the Mayor of Flavortown, Mr. Guy Fieri, has been spotted all over Calgary in the last few days.
The American TV personality and restaurateur was in town to host the sixth annual Cowboys BBQ Cook-Off on July 10, and he didn’t hold back on sharing his love for the city’s food scene.
Speaking to Dished, Fieri revealed that we’re about to see a whole lot more of the city on screen in the near future on his hit TV series Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.
“We just shot six triple D’s here […] This is a food Mecca,” he said.
@dishedcalgaryYou heard it here first, Guy Fieri loves the Calgary Stampede and Calgary’s food scene 🔥🤩 Do you agree with the Mayor of Flavortown? #guyfieri #dishedyyc #calgary #yyc #calgaryfoodie♬ original sound – Dished Calgary
“You’ve got to come to Calgary for the Stampede, but you’ve got to check out the food scene.”
While Fieri wasn’t able to share the spots that will be featured on the show, he has been spotted at a number of Calgary spots this week.
Popular matcha pop-up The Matcha Way shared an Instagram story of Fieri in a car holding a cup of their matcha.
“Turning @guyfieri into a matcha girlie,” the photo is captioned.
Meanwhile, pop-up wine bar City Boys Outpost shared a photo of their menu, which had been signed by Fieri.
Fieri also made a return visit to Vietnamese spot Pure Street Food at First Street Market. The spot was featured on a recent season of the show, alongside fellow market operators Saffron Street and Moose & Poncho.
