F1 driver Lewis Hamilton spotted in the Canadian Rockies

If you’ve been to the Canadian Rockies recently, you may have crossed paths with Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton.
The seven-time world champion driver shared an Instagram post to his more than 40 million followers that appears to feature photos of Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park, a very popular lake in the Rocky Mountains known for its turquoise waters and sweeping mountain views.
Hamilton shared a selfie taken on the lake, along with a separate photo of himself and his mother in a canoe, capturing a quiet moment away from the F1 track.
Emerald Lake is one of Yoho National Park’s most visited destinations, located near the Alberta and British Columbia border.

This isn’t the first time Hamilton has been spotted in Canada. In June 2025, he was seen running along the Stanley Park Seawall in Vancouver.
It’s been a busy month for Hamilton, who recently competed at the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix on June 14, 2026, where he scored his first victory for Ferrari.

It seems the British F1 driver was taking in the alpine scenery a few days before he’s heading back to the race track for the Austrian Grand Prix on June 28, 2026.
Hamilton is not the first celebrity to share their time in the Rocky Mountains with the rest of the world; Canadian icon Justin Bieber was spotted at Lake Louise last year, country superstar Luke Combs shared praise for Banff National Park during his stay a couple of years back, while Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston called the town of Banff and surrounding attractions “stupidly gorgeous” after his visit.
