
The Calgary Stampede is almost here, and some new data just revealed which cities visitors are coming from to enjoy the festivities.
New data provided by Airbnb looked at searches made from January to March 2026 for July 3 to 12 travel dates. It showed a nearly 40 per cent increase in searches for Calgary stays during Stampede week.
While the Stampede may be known as the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth, Canadian travellers still dominated searches, accounting for nearly 70 per cent of guest stays over the 10 days. Albertans alone account for 20 per cent of guest stays.
Some of the top Canadian cities that travellers are arriving from include:
- Edmonton
- Vancouver
- Toronto
- Saskatoon
- Winnipeg
The Calgary Stampede is also getting some international love from visitors. Here are the top cities from around the world searching for Calgary stays this Stampede:
- London, U.K.
- Seoul, South Korea
The U.S., U.K., Germany, and Australia were among the top countries searching for Stampede stays over the data collection period.

For anyone looking to make a little extra cash, Airbnb might just be the way to go. Last year, Airbnb claimed that hosts earned a median of approximately $2,200 over the course of the rodeo, and over $11.5 million collectively.
According to Airbnb, the top trending neighbourhoods in the city include:
- Shaganappi
- Montgomery
- McKenzie Towne
- Mahogany
- Mount Pleasant
