YVR Airport has announced plans for over 20 new food and beverage concepts set to open over the next two years, along with ten new retail spots.
A global operator of food and beverage outlets in travel locations, SSP Canada, will be opening ten new concepts including the following highlights:
Celebrated Canadian chef David Hawksworth will be opening his first airport location in the Domestic Terminal in 2020. This spot will feature organic salads, oven-fired pizzas, house pastas, and cured meats, alongside other seasonal eats.
The Dirty Apron
This much-loved local deli and cooking school will be opening a spot serving up a menu of eats like freshly baked breads, produce, and meats from regional producers.
Steamworks Bar & Restaurant, Whistler Brewing Lodge, and Red Truck Beer Stop (developed in conjunction with Red Truck Beer Co)
These additions will bring YVR’s craft beer scene to a new level. Local brews will be served alongside “mountain cuisine” and classic brewpub fare.
American casual burger bar Wahlburgers will also be going in at US departures.
A new local marketplace concept is coming to YVR too. Pacific Farms Market is brought to us by Tastes on the Fly, a San Francisco-based boutique airport restaurant operator.
Pacific Farms will operate in both the Domestic and International Terminals.
In the International Terminal, travellers can expect five made-to-order food stations, 49th Parallel coffee, Purebread Bakery goods, a breakfast bar in the morning, a sushi and poke station, Live Fire Pizza, and a juice bar with freshly squeezed juices and smoothies.
The International Terminal market will also boast a full-service seafood-inspired restaurant and bar.
This is exciting stuff as several eateries are first-time concepts to YVR, and some are opening as soon as Summer 2019.
These 30 new businesses will add to YVR’s existing portfolio of 170 restaurants, services, and shops.
