A man fell to his death Saturday after throwing several large items out of the ninth-floor window of a Vancouver high-rise apartment building, according to police.
A statement issued by the Vancouver force says the man was distraught and officers responded to several calls just after noon about someone throwing TVs and bicycles out of a window at a building on Bidwell near Haro Street.
“This presented a dangerous situation for anyone walking by. Officers quickly located and entered the apartment that the items were coming from and observed a man inside who appeared distraught,” police said in a statement.
After the officers entered the apartment, the man fell from the window and did not survive, say police.
The IIO is now investigating.
