Car Free Day Commercial Drive

What: Vancouver’s ever-popular Car Free Day returns to Commercial Drive this weekend for an epic celebration.
Thousands of attendees will transform the stretch of Grandview Highway to 1st Avenue into a pedestrian paradise, with food vendors and artisan booths, kids’ activities, and more. There will also be plenty of great live music to check out.

Picklefest Vancouver
What: Taking over City Centre Artist Lodge at 2111 Main St. and brought to us by Henderson Brewing Co. for one day only, Picklefest — Canada’s biggest pickle festival — is happening this September, spreading the scent of pickle juice far and wide across the city.
Festivities include a bustling marketplace made up of dozens of vendors serving pickles by the jar, on a stick, and other pickle-inspired eats and beverages.
That’ll be paired with plenty of live entertainment, pickle-themed paraphernalia, and the star of the show, the festival’s annual home pickling contest, where an elite group of amateur picklers will walk away with cash prizes and infinite glory for their fermented food creations.

Flats Fest
What: Flats Fest, presented by Low Tide Properties, is the perfect family-friendly event for your summer weekend. Attendees will enjoy live music from Surf Hat and Yukon Blonde, an artisan market, a kids’ zone with a bouncy castle, a site-wide beverage garden, and food trucks.
There will also be an Innovation Zone to explore, a climbing wall to challenge yourself, and complimentary treats while supplies last.

Vokra’s Walk For The Kitties 2025

VOKRA
What: Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association, better known as VOKRA, is hosting a 5 km fun walk. The popular annual fundraiser raises funds to support the no-kill, registered non-profit cat rescue organization in rescuing, healing and finding new loving homes for over 1,200 cats and kittens every year.

Neil Young
What: Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Neil Young will perform at Burnaby’s Deer Lake Park on Saturday, Sept. 6 and Monday, Sept. 8.
Young and his band, the Chrome Hearts, are hitting the road on the Love Earth world tour. The three-time Grammy winner and seven-time Juno recipient has plenty of iconic hits, including “Heart Of Gold,” “Old Man,” and “Rockin’ in the Free World.” Young is also an activist and philanthropist, co-founding the benefit concert Farm Aid in 1985.

Polish Festival
What: Polish Festival Vancouver returns for a milestone anniversary next month on the North Shore, so get ready to “Smacznego!”
