A family-friendly Filipino festival is happening in Surrey next month, and you’ll want to bring an appetite.

The Museum of Surrey is hosting its annual Filipino Fest on Saturday, Sept. 6, with live performances, food vendors, children’s activities, and more.

According to the museum, it is an opportunity for guests to reconnect with their roots or learn about Filipino culture for the first time.

“Each year, it is an honour to work with the Filipino community as they celebrate their traditions through performance, food, activities, vendors, and music,” said Lynn Saffery, Museum of Surrey manager, in a release.

“It is such an honour to showcase and celebrate their diverse cultures and heritage.”

This year’s Filipino festival will showcase a thrilling lineup of performers, including singers, poets, dancers, and DJs.

There will be a marketplace with local vendors and artisans, kids’ activities, live demos and photo opportunities. And visitors can also explore the immersive, all-ages exhibit “Ocean Bound” to learn how actions on land impact ocean health and aquatic life.
