One of the most prominent struggles in going to the beach during the summer time is racing and fighting against other Vancouverites for an optimal spot.
Ideally, the perfect spot is on flat, even ground, with minimal rocks or twigs, and the perfect distance away from the water – just in case the tide moves higher.
So, when you’ve locked down a beach spot that’s equivalent to Yaletown real estate, how do you handle the crisis of forgetting to pack food? Or even worse, packing some snacks, but not enough to keep the entire crowd happy?

Never fear, because there are a wide number of restaurants in Metro Vancouver that deliver to beaches. Some may have minimum orders you need to hit or several dollar delivery fees, but it takes away all the hassle of packing your own food – and losing that coveted spot.
Here are seven restaurants in Metro Vancouver the deliver to beaches.
When you’re dining at a beach, you’ll want the minimal hassle and as few utensils as possible. Depending on the time of day and heat, you’ll also want to opt for something lighter. Leave it to Virtuous Pie for a killer pie and a salad to follow suit. Popular choices include their Stranger Wings and their Ultraviolet, and you can even get them delivered to the top of the stairs at Wreck Beach (because you still gotta work a bit for the pizza).
Address: UBC Westbrook Village – 3339 Shrum Lane, Vancouver
Delivering to Spanish Banks, Jericho Beach, and Wreck Beach, Maria’s Taverna is a solid pick if you’re looking for more upscale dining on the beach. In addition to standard souvlaki platters and traditional Greek offerings, the restaurant also offers pasta and pizza on the menu.
Address: 2324 W 4th Ave
Ginger & Chilli boasts an expansive list of appetizers, soups, seafood, hot pot, and noodles, with serving sizes large enough to keep any number of people happy. The restaurant excels most during lunchtime when several different lunch specials and dim sum options are offered to diners at a very reasonable price. Heads up though, you’ll need to specify how many utensils are needed for delivery as they don’t give any unless asked to.
Address: 4409 West 10th Ave, Vancouver
The tiny hole-in-the-wall restaurant is best known for offering both pizza and Indian food. The menu features 13 different pizzas and the ability to create your own, as well as standard Indian offerings like butter chicken, chicken vindaloo, and lamb vindaloo. Be sure to check out the coupon zone and Indian food specials on their website.
Note: They also offer chicken wings!

Everyday Sushi hits all the stops with reasonably priced rolls and some bang-for-buck sushi combos. The nigiri menu is also very well priced for singular pieces and in case of a large crowd, the party platters won’t disappoint. Delivery costs $3 and they’ll deliver to Spanish Banks, Jericho Beach, and Wreck Beach.
Address: 4572 W 10th Ave, Vancouver
Another standout choice for Chinese delivery, Iron Wok offers more choices than diners know what to do with and reliable dinner combos to keep the prices relatively low. Although it might be difficult to eat on the beach as well, Iron Wok offers a Chinese delicacy called “drunken chicken,” which is chicken in wine sauce served cold.
Address: 255 – 2083 Alma Street, Vancouver
Handi offers perhaps the best in authentic Indian for delivery. Smaller bites like pakoras, samosas, and calamari are up for selection with more substantial and aromatic dishes like chicken madras, lamb rogan josh, and a number of Tandoori items. Equally enticing is their selection of several Indian desserts, including Kheer (rice flour cooked in milk).
