A vending machine selling personal protective equipment (PPE) has been installed at SkyTrain’s Waterfront Station.

The machine is stocked with single-use masks, reusable masks, and hand sanitizer to keep travellers safe during COVID-19.

The machine is owned by Edvin Muminovic, who will be operating and restocking it as necessary. A representative of Muminovic said the machine is “the first of its kind in BC.”

A second PPE vending machine is set to be installed at CF Pacific Centre early next week.

Both cashless machines will be in place for at least a year.

Face coverings are now mandatory in all public indoor and retail spaces in BC and TransLink vehicles.

To date, British Columbia has seen 35,422 COVID-19 cases and 481 deaths.
