Today, the Michelin Guide has revealed its 2026 restaurant selection for Vancouver, and our city is now home to its first two-Michelin-starred restaurant: AnnaLena.

“Today we celebrate reaching new heights for Vancouver, with the first Two-Starred
restaurant being awarded to AnnaLena,” said Gwendal Poullennec, international director
of the Michelin Guide. “The whole 2026 selection reflected the continued evolution and
maturity of Vancouver’s restaurant community. The city’s chefs and restaurant teams
consistently demonstrate exceptional skill and creativity, resulting in dining experiences
that have left a lasting impression for our anonymous Inspectors.”

Located in the heart of Kitsilano, AnnaLena is a tasting menu restaurant owned by Chef Michael Robbins and Operations Manager Jeff Parr. It had also been named one of En Route’s Top 10 New Restaurants in its opening year and has consistently been listed as one of Canada’s Top 100 Restaurants.

“You won’t find white tablecloths or a formal atmosphere at AnnaLena, but you will find one of Vancouver’s most polished — and delicious — dining experiences,” writes Michelin. “Effortless service, expertly prepared cocktails, and astute wine pairings are all part of the magic, but of course it’s the seasonally inspired tasting menu that really steals the show. This globally accented cuisine marries precise technique and top-flight ingredients. Peak-season Sungold tomatoes with house-made XO sauce and caramelized buttermilk infused with Thai green curry; and fresh pasta with charcoal-roasted asparagus and sauce vin blanc poured tableside are merely two examples of Chef Michael Robbins’ focused creations displaying exceptional clarity and depth of flavour.”

The Michelin Guide has also recognized two new restaurants to receive a Bib Gourmand distinction, which recognizes eateries for great food at a great value.

Kavita, brought to us by Mumbai-born chef Tushar Tondvalkar, has received the Bib Gourmand distinction. Here, Tondvalkar celebrates regional Indian cuisine made with local ingredients in the restaurant named after his mother.

Additionally, Chef’s Choice Seafood Restaurant has also been promoted from a Michelin-recognized restaurant to a Bib Gourmand eatery.

As for Michelin-recommended restaurants, new spots include Jay Nok, Jeju, Niwa, and Peya.
