What: One of Metro Vancouver’s most popular outdoor music festivals returns this week, and it’s giving fans a huge reason to cheer.
Burnaby Blues and Roots Festival, happening at the Festival Lawn at Deer Lake Park on Saturday, Aug. 9, is once again offering free admission in 2025. Fans will also be treated to a stellar lineup of performers, including headliner Ani Difranco.

Playland 2025
What: There are over 30 rides and attractions to enjoy at Vancouver’s favourite amusement park, ranging from family-fun rides to extreme, heart-racing attractions.
Prepare yourself for the sky-high Atmosfear, the timeless Wooden Roller Coaster, and of course, The Beast — the massive pendulum that stands 12 storeys tall and swings at speeds of 90 km/h.
You’ll be working up an appetite with all there is to see and do at Playland this year, so it’s a good thing the park is serving up fan favourites like hot dogs, mini donuts, and more!

What: The 10th annual multidisciplinary Vines Art Festival features visual and performing artists showcasing their talents at parks throughout Vancouver. The festival features free live music, dance, storytelling and more.

Vancouver Canadians vs Hillsboro Hops
What: Baseball is Back #AtTheNat! Join the Vancouver Canadians and cheer on the future of the Blue Jays as they take on the Hillsboro Hops from Aug. 5 to 10.
You can enjoy the game while enjoying hot dogs, burgers, popcorn, and all other ballpark favourites, along with a cold beer. Plus, don’t miss the exciting theme nights.

Pleasant Day Festival
What: Pleasant Day Festival is taking over a huge stretch of Main Street for a vibrant community celebration full of dining, shopping, interactive activities and live music.
The family-friendly event on Saturday, Aug. 9 is presented by the Mount Pleasant Business Improvement Area (MPBIA). Pleasant Day will feature several stages showcasing local artists and musicians, market vendors, and games and activities for all ages.

Richmond Night Market 2025
When: The Richmond Night Market is officially open for its 2025 season. This highly anticipated event is the largest night market in North America.
This year is extra special because it marks the 25th anniversary of the market, and there will be some special offers for visitors to celebrate. One of these special offers is the return of its popular Summer Happy Hour with special food and drink deals that are all under $10.

Vancouver Water Fight
What: If you see someone in a business suit getting blasted with a Super Soaker at Stanley Park, don’t be alarmed. It’s all part of Vancouver’s biggest water fight, and it’s making a splashy return.
The 14th annual Vancouver Water Fight kicks off at 1 p.m. near Lumberman’s Arch, where hundreds of people are expected to gather for one of the city’s quirkiest and most joyful summer traditions.

Paws of Nude Dog Bar

Nude
What: Paws of Nude Dog Bar is a playful afternoon at Cooper’s Dog Park in celebration of pups and their people.
Nude Beverages, a proud supporter of animal rescue, will be handing out dog treats, toys, and water, while pet parents can enjoy samples of Nude products.
Nude also recently partnered with the BC SPCA to create the Paw Pack, now available in stores, with proceeds helping animals in need.

Tate McRae
What: Tate McRae’s latest album, So Close To What, has topped charts around the world and also gave her fans the hit song, “Sports Car.” The two-time Juno winner is also in the record books as the first Canadian finalist on So You Think You Can Dance, and recently scored her first number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 as a featured artist on Morgan Wallen’s track, “What I Want”.

Improv Night with Colin Mochrie and Friends

Colin Mochrie
What: Canadian comedy icon Colin Mochrie is coming to Art’s Club Stanley Stage for two shows this month, and fans won’t want to miss out.
Mochrie is renowned for his work on Whose Line Is It Anyway?, This Hour Has 22 Minutes, and in his co-creation Hyprov. He is also the author of the book, Not Quite the Classics, and co-created the CBC comedy Getting Along Famously with his wife Debra McGrath.

Nine Inch Nails
What: Nine Inch Nails are bringing their new Peel It Back World Tour to Vancouver this summer.
Nine Inch Nails were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2020 and have sold over 30 million records worldwide. In terms of live performances, their previous world tour garnered rave reviews, from London to their hometown of Cleveland.
